 Emily Gardens

At the end of last term we began our association with the residents of Emily Gardens. Our Year 5/6 students visited the residents and talked and read to them during the afternoon.  Last week our Choir which consists of students from Year 5 through to Year 10 again walked across and performed for the residents. This is to become a regular occurrence and we are all looking forward to our next visit which will be next Wednesday.

 Debating

Our two Primary Teams debated against Culcairn last week.  The Year 5/6 Team tried to prove that Pocket money should not be earned while our Junior Team debated that TV is better than Books.

 National School Pride Program

I am excited to announce that our share of the money distributed to all schools in Australia by Mr Rudd will be spent on refurbishing the Girls’ Change Room to include three toilets and a shower. The remaining $60 000 will be used to purchase eight interactive white boards. This means that every classroom in the school will have access to this wonderful new technology.

Special Assembly

At 2:00pm on Thursday 6th August we are holding a special assembly to formally say thankyou to Clare Rowe. Clare as many of you know was a well loved teacher at our school for many years. Anyone who would like to attend is more than welcome to join us on that day.

 Thankyou

A sincere thankyou to W&J Taylor for their generous support of our school. We really appreciate the ongoing support that this business provides to us.

Work Placements

Two of our students who are taking part in the Stage 5 TVET Program are at present on work placement. This is over and above their work experience which they completed earlier in the term.

Congratulations

Congratulations to our Primary Boys’ Touch Team which took part in the Gala Knockout Day last Friday. Although the boys only won one match out of three they exhibited great sportsmanship and gave their all.  Well done boys.
