On Thursday our 3/4 and 5/6 Debating teams will pit their strength against the children from St Joseph’s School Culcairn. The 3/4s are arguing that school uniforms are good for us while the 5/6 team hope to prove that a woman’s place is in the home.

A sincere thank you to Stephen (Cactus) Umback for preparing the area for our new sand pit. The sandpit is being partially funded by the present Year 10 and Mr Gilham and his band of woodworkers are going to build the structure. A big thank you in advance to all these people.

Umpires Needed

Mrs Higginson is in need of umpires for the Bernie O’Connor Netball Day which is being held on Friday, 5th September. If you are able and free on that day Mrs Higginson would love to hear from you.

Riverina Secondary Athletics

Today a number of our students travelled to Albury to take part in the Riverina CHS Athletics Carnival. We wish these students well. A full report will appear in the next newsletter.

Vaccinations

On Monday , 1st September all students in Year 7 will be offered their second Hepatitis B and all female students will be offered the third HPV vaccine. It is important that these students are all present on this day.

Life Education Van

The Life Education Van is visiting our school next Thursday and Friday. All students from Kindergarten to Year 6 will be visiting the van. This is an important part of our Personal Development, Health and Physical Education Program.

Tony Lockett Shield

Our primary boys are involved in the Tony Lockett Shield Football Competition which is being held in Wagga on Friday, 1st August. Our sincere thanks to the people who are assisting with the catering.

Secondary Zone Athletics Carnival

The Secondary Zone Athletics Carnival took place on Friday 20th June 2008 at Alexandra Park, Albury. Students from The Rock, Lockhart, Oaklands and Urana Central Schools were in attendance. After early fog, we enjoyed a warm calm and sunny day with perfect conditions for Athletics.
